We know the phrase “good morning” is thrown around pretty liberally but today is extra good because Rihanna
literally just premiered her new single “Diamonds” and, trust us, if
this doesn’t make your Wednesday feel like a Friday then we don’t know
what will.

As far as the track itself goes, it’s the perfect song to set the tone for Rihanna’s next disc and sees her singing, “shine bright like a diamond” over an ultra catchy hook. “You’re a shooting star I see, a vision of ecstasy/When you hold me I’m alive, we’re like diamonds in the sky,” she continues as her voice also sparkles like a precious stone. Part ballad, part anthem, we’ve got a feeling you’ll be hearing a lot of this song in the future.

Details about Rihanna’s upcoming seventh studio album are still scarce but a press release promised “details to be announced in the weeks and months ahead.” The release adds that Rihanna worked with the Norwegian songwriting team Stargate on the track who previously collaborated with RiRi on hits like “Don’t Stop The Music” and “Only Girl (In The World)”.

Oh and if you like the sound of “Diamonds” you’ll undoubtedly be able to hear it live when Rihanna embarks on Live Nations Rihanna Diamonds World Tour 2013 which kicks off at the Niagara Center in Buffalo on March 8th, 2013 and is currently scheduled to wrap up in Brooklyn, New York, on May 4th.
