Read What Rooney Says About the Tackle

Wayne Rooney has hit back at criticism over his tackle on Jordon Mutch during Manchester United's 2-2 draw with Cardiff on Sunday.

Rooney was fortunate to stay on the pitch after appearing to kick out at Mutch, but referee Neil Swarbrick opted to caution the striker.

It would prove to be a controversial decision as moments later Rooney put United in front. However, in his post-match interviews, manager David Moyes backed Swarbrick's decision to show his player a yellow card rather than red.

Following the game, Rooney took to social networking site Twitter to display his anger at both commentators and pundits talking about the tackle.

Alex Ferguson Confirms Rooney's Request to Move. Via b/r

Manchester United will already look different next season without its longtime manager, but there could be even more change if the most recognizable player also leaves town. According to Sky Sports (via  ESPN ),  Wayne Rooney  has asked for a transfer off the club following the season: Sir Alex Ferguson recently finished his final match at Old Trafford after  announcing his retirement  and came away with a 2-1 victory. However, Rooney was unused in the win and was not even available as a substitute. In the previous match against Chelsea, the forward did not come on until the 69th minute.   Rooney has seen his role diminish greatly this season thanks mostly to the addition of striker Robin van Persie from Arsenal.
